Riyadh: The suicide rate of Foreigners who are living in Saudi Arabia has increased alarmingly as the report issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health said that 488 people have committed suicide last year in which three quarters of them are foreign men who have come to work here.
The report further stated that half of the bodies are those who have died in the suicide or accidents among 3 thousand people from across the country. 60 percent of the dead bodies are belonged to foreigners especially from Pakistan and India; however 10 percent of the dead bodies have not been identified yet. Here it is noteworthy that most of the victims were not even post- mortem.
Postmortems were only accompanied on 40 percent of bodies Kingdom-wide while Jazan had a 100-percent postmortem rate and Riyadh had an almost 84-percent autopsy rate whereas only 6 postmortems for every 60 bodies was conducted by Baha.
It is estimated in the year 2013, April that about 7.5 million foreign are working in Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia has become gradually reliant on foreign labours. As most of the foreign workers are employed in oil, finance, health care, agriculture, cleaning and domestic service industries. Immigrants continue to arrive in Saudi Arabia because of the sponsorship system. Saudi Arabia has a population of 30 million of whom 10 million are migrants, and almost all of them are employed.
