On 11th July 1995 Dutch forces handed over the city to Serbs who started raping young women and killing men. They systematically separated the young women for rape, it is said that young male children were also raped.
All men were separated and then sent to different locations where they were killed and buried in mass graves. Women were deported from the city, while young girls were raped which was used as a weapon of war.
