Islamabad: Adviser to the Prime Minister on interior affairs Rehman Malik has announced his retirement from the Senate seat on Tuesday. While talking to media the Senator said that he has also informed the central leadership about the resignation.
Malik clarified that the dual nationality amendment bill was not to favor him and just to rule out this possibility he is resigning from the post.
He told that he filed an application in 2008 to end his British Nationality and he had also left all the business in Britain on the instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari. “Now, I will do whatever the leadership would order me to do,” he added.
Former Interior Minister also demanded others including Hussain Nawaz to show their details regarding dual nationality.
