If you want to reduce the risk of cancer then start eating red onions, a new study reveals. This is because it contains Anthocyanins which gives onion its darker color.
All types of onion contain quercetin which is known to be helpful in reducing the size of cancer tumor, claimed new Canadian research.
The lead author Abdulmonem Murayyan said that ‘Red Onion promote an unfavourable environment for cancer cells and they disrupt communication between cancer cells, which inhibits growth.’ The study was done by a team of researcher from University of Guelph.
But Dr Justine Alford rejects the findings of the research, she said that the observation was based on a laboratory sampling while the cancer cells in body will react differently because human body is a complex machine.
In human body cancer cells have multiple choices, they can easily spread while in lab they don’t have these options.
