Recently Sindh Rangers claimed that since launch of Operation in interior Sindh paramilitary force had picked up hundreds of suspects linked with political, militant and separatist groups.
According to the spokesperson “Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, in line of powers given to them under Article 147 since September 5, 2013 has apprehended a total of 533 suspects during raids in different areas in interior Sindh,”.
Sindh Rangers spokesman further added 127 illegal Afghans were detained, 34 arrested were linked with banned outfits, 16 affiliated with separatist organizations, four belonged to ‘militant wing’ of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Altaf), 18 were robbers/dacoits, 10 smugglers, 11 ‘illegal’ hunters, 24 drug peddlers and 234 were involved in different crimes.

It was surprising to see that no other political party was named except of MQM.

The extra power law for Rangers is same for whole Sindh, but the use of their power is different in Karachi and Interior Sindh. Why?

Big question in common man brain is why Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is reluctant in giving special powers to Rangers. PPP should easily give permission for special policing powers of Rangers in Sindh as in 3 years none of their worker has been arrested.
