The biggest park in the adjacent areas of Landhi, Steel Town, Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadeed and Quaidabad is Quad-E-Azam Park which is located in Steel Town Karachi. The beautiful landscape, low ticket price and timing makes it a great picnic spot for the citizens of nearby areas.
If you want some fresh air or want to spend few hours under large shady trees then Quaid e Azam Park is a great place for you. Unlike Safari Park there are not many rides in this park.
Ticket Prices:
The entry fees for the park is just Rs. 30 for all visitors except infants and babies who are exempted from any tickets or passes. The parking charges are separate which depends on the type of vehicle.
There are long tracks in the green lush park under shady trees of different types. Other attractions of the park include a beautiful fountain, pool and a mini zoo.
Boating in Pool:
There are multiple pools in the zoo where visitors can hire self riding boat and enjoy boating in the park, it is a unique experience especially for the teenagers. Many people have complained that the water should be cleaner to increase the beauty of the pool.
Mini Zoo:
The mini zoo has few animals, people have complained that the zoo is not in a very good shape. Though previous governments inaugurated many small zoos in many residential areas of Karachi but no attention was given to this already established park.
In comparison with Karachi Zoo the zoo in Quaid-e-Azam park is very small with only few animals.
Mini Train:
A mini train ride is also available in the park which gives you a tour of the park, it is the biggest attraction for young children who visit the park with their families.
Canteen & Restaurant:
Multiple canteens and restaurants are also available within the premises of the park where traditional food and fast food are available.
During holidays and especially long weekends and Eid the park is filled with families, teenagers & young school aged children. For them it is a place for relaxing, enjoyment and entertainment. During Eid-ul-Fitr and Bakra Eid many more rides are available in the park making it more attractive for the people of Karachi.
During such holidays people from nearby towns such as Dhabeji and Gharo also visit the park to make their holidays memorable.
Timing:
Quaid-e-Azam Park is open from 7 AM in the morning till 11 PM in the night, many people believe the park looks more beautiful during night.
Location & Map:
Quaid-e-Azam Park is located on National Highway (NH-5) nearby the main entrance of Steel Town Karachi which is just 25 minutes drive from Karachi Airport.
National Highway was recently upgraded making the flow of the traffic smooth, even the long drive from populated areas of the city to Steel Town itself is a worthy thing.
