After Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf countries restricted their ties with Qatar food shortage become a concern for the small gulf country. Almost every other food item in Qatar was imported from neighboring countries.
But now a Qatari businessman is importing 4,000 animals to start his own dairy production factory and end the dependence on other gulf countries. The 4,000 cows will be delivered through 60 flights of Qatar Airways.
Moutaz Al Khayyat is rich businessmen owning businesses in USA & Australia, but he thinks now it’s time to work for his own country.
For the time being Turkish dairy products have been imported to meet the local requirement but he hopes that soon his dairy farm will be end the dependency on other countries.
Qatar is currently spending $500 million each week in preparation for the 2022 FIFA WORLD CUP. It is being said that the world cup has put financial restrictions on the gulf country.
