Q Mobile just tarnished its reputation by pulling of a cheap stunt with its flagship mobile Noir 27 commercial. The television commercial being aired on the local TV channels is exactly the same as the Indian TV commercial for Gionee S5.1. In fact, the entire TV commercial is the same; all they did was to replace the logo used in the commercial. The company is already under fire for its Z7s advertisement and after a few days of investigation, the ad came out to be a copy of an Indian commercial that was made in India for the Indian audience.
This act has raised eyebrows as it denotes the fact that Gionee S5.1 and Noir are the same Smartphones, hence the same commercials. Maybe Q Mobile, like other brands in the world is just buying phones from the same manufacturers in China and were merely distributors taking credit for everything. This question has been raised before also and it leaves us wondering if Q Mobile is using the same source as Micromax in India. Now a same commercial is being used for advertising the product in two different countries.
Q Mobile has launched really cheap phones in the market to gain an edge over its competitors, but although it may be popular in the lower end of the market, its phones have failed to create an impression at the higher end of the market. Q Mobile should make an effort of hiring their own advertisement agency to make their identity commercials, rather than using foreign commercials.
In past Q Mobile was also in mid of controversy because of vulgar Ads of E750 and Noir A2.
Q Mobile was approached to answer the purpose behind such an attempt, but there has been no response yet, which has worsened the situation for Q Mobile. They should better start thinking about their advertisement strategies.
