The Punjab University is a part of an HEC sponsored project which will turn the university into a ‘Smart’ university in the near future. This plan will enable students at the Punjab University to enjoy the facility of free Wifi 24 hours on the campus. The Punjab University is one of 7 universities that have been included in this project.
The Punjab University free Ptcl Wifi is a welcome announcement for the students and teachers alike. Now students will be able to carry out research, stay connected with each other and their teachers and also be able to submit their assignments at any time they want. This facility will be particularly useful for students living in the university hostels.
The project announced by the HEC includes 7 universities across Pakistan. These universities initially include one university from each province and more universities will be included in the future. The universities currently included in the HEC smart university program are:
- Karachi University
- Punjab University
- Peshawar University
- Balochistan University
- Quaid-e-Azam University
- Azad Kashmir University
- Gilgit University
The free wifi facility will be provided by ptcl under an agreement with the HEC who will provide all the necessary funding.
