KARACHI: Ex-president General retired Pervaiz Musharraf has said that Pakistan and India can be involved in the proxy war in Afghanistan after the exit of NATO forces. While being interviewed by a French news agency, he has said that India’s influence in Afghanistan is dangerous for Pakistan which will be a danger for the whole region in the future. He has added that India will need Pakistan’s rival Afghanistan.
The ex-president said if India would use some elements of ethnic groups in Afghanistan, Pakistan would also support those groups and the ethnic groups for us would surely be Pakhtoon. He added if the proxy war in Afghanistan was going to start, we should avoid it.
Pervaiz Musharraf leveled allegation that Indian was supporting separatists in Balochistan through training camps in South Afghanistan. He criticized on ex-Afghan president Hamid Karzai because he sent Afghan officers to India rather than Pakistan for training.
Musharraf said that such little things had created strategic issues. He defended his decision to cooperate with America after the incident of 9/11 saying that he still standed on his decision. He said he had no doubt that people needed change and no one should doubt in that regard that Pakistanis needed change.
