After making government Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan announced austerity measures to reduce the budget deficit of government. But do you know the salary of Pakistani Prime Minister?
According to the official salary slip of Prime Minister his “Gross Pay & Allowances” are Rs. 201, 574. The breakup for this gross pay is as follows:
- Basic salary of Rs. 107,280
- Sumptuary allowance of Rs. 50,000,
- Ad hoc relief allowance of Rs. 21,456,
- Ad hoc allowance under 2011 contract Rs. 12,110 in
- Ad hoc relief of Rs. 10,728
After tax & other deductions of Rs. 4,595 the payable amount is Rs. 196,979. This breakup of salary is as per the slip of February 2019, and it is expected that Prime Minister is receiving almost the same salary.
The current salary of Prime Minister Imran Khan is 11 times more than the minimum wage of a Pakistani labour which is Rs. 17,500.
What’s more surprising is the fact that this salary of PM is less than the salary of Ministers. According to a tweet by Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry the salary of Ministers in Pakistan is Rs. 345,000 from which Rs. 90,000 is deducted against house rent.
