KARACHI: Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif is in Karachi today where he is likely to meet with the governor of Sindh Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan and high-level officials in order to talk of Rangers’ powers in Karachi.
After reaching Karachi, Nawaz Sharif visited Port Qasim Authority where the chairman Port Qasim and Secretary Ports and Shipping Khalid Pervaiz briefed him about various energy plans. The premier also inspected Port Qasim Power Plant.
Nawaz Sharif was told that two energy set-ups of 660660 megawatts were being installed in Bin Qasim whereas LNG Terminal on Port Qasim was also built within 11 months which I a record. During the briefing, the premier was told that this is the first project of generating energy in energy sector in accordance with economic corridor.
It was told that the project would cost half a billion and would be completed in 2017. Prime Minister directed that energy production should be started from the project till 31 December, 2017. The Chinese experts associated with the project ensured that the projects would be completed within the dateline but we would try to complete them until August 2017.
