Pregnant women and mothers that feed their young infant milk usually ask question that whether they should fast in Ramadan or not?
Mufti Muhammad Akmal was also asked the same question to which he answered that it depends on the health of the women.
If a pregnant women can fast without fearing for her health or health of the child they she must fast but if she fears for her health or the health of the child then she must not fast.
Scholars claim that it is haram for a pregnant woman to fast if doctor cautions her not to fast for the life of her child.
The same question was asked to Darul Ifta of Dawat-e-Islami who also answered the same. They said that women think that during pregnancy or milk feeding fasting is not an obligation which is incorrect.
They are also obliged to fast and are excused only if the health condition doesn’t allow her to fast in the holy month.
