MULTAN: The polling for by-elections at the constituency, NA 149 of Multan, has been started as soon as the clock struck 8 O’clock in the morning. Javed Hashmi hopes for his success whereas Amir Dogar also seems to be claiming for his possible success.
According to sources, 18 candidates have taken part in by-elections of the constituency NA 149 of Multan but the real competition seems to be taking place between Javed Hashmi, Amir Dogar and Dr Javed Siddiqui.
286 polling stations have been set in the constituency. The polling started at 8 AM which will continue till 5 PM. Javed Hashmi and Amir Dogar are taking part as independent candidates whereas Dr Javed Bhatti is the candidate from Pakistan People’s Party.
Javed Hashmi who is known as Baghi says that he will surely succeed and now, people will have to wait till evening for the results. The rival of Baghi (Javed Hashmi), Amir Dogar has claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami, N-league, Tehreek-e-Insaf, People’s Party, JUI and others have supported him.
On the other hand, clause 144 has been imposed in the district whereas holiday is being observed in the whole district due to the by-elections. Police and rangers have been deployed at sensitive polling stations.
