Karachi: City Police will start its Radio channel test transmission as soon as Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) allots frequency to it, sources informed.
According to the sources, the project of around Rs29.10 million, running under Sindh IT department is expected to be completed by this month. The project in making is part of the Annual Development Plan 2012.
Sindh Police Information Technology Director Tabassum Abbasi informed that a transmission tower has already been installed, whereas work on assembling of a studio is in the last stage.
The “FM Police Radio Channel” will be located in Block E of the Central Police and it will broadcast news, awareness, music and other entertainment programs for public. Interviews with senior Police officers, transmission and discussions of weather forecast, traffic diversions and other significant information will also be a part of the transmission.
