Lahore: Renowned poet and the Director of Majlis-i-Taraqqi-i-Adab, Shehzad Ahmed passes away due to unknown reasons here yesterday (Wednesday, August 1) at the age of 80.
His younger son, Tauheed Shahzad, told the sources that his father went to the office and came back at 4pm, in a sudden his condition got worsened after which he was rushed to the hospital but succumbed on the way. ‘He was suffering from cardiac disease but the reason of the death was not any such trouble,’he added.
The deceased was born on April 16, 1932, in Amritsar (India) and migrated to Pakistan after the partition. He completed MSc in psychology from Government College, Lahore, in 1956 and in 1958 he also did MA philosophy from GC. He wrote around 30 books on poetry and a number of books on psychology. The poet was awarded the Pride of Performance during 1990s for his extraordinary servies for the country.
