Prime Minsiter Nawaz Sharif is likely to break the foreign trip record set by the former PM Yusuf Raza Gillani of PPP government. After the PML-N took over the governance charge, the Prime Minister has engaged himself in foreign trips and affairs, rather than looking into the country’s affairs and situation.
The PM has visited Britain, US, Saudi Arabia and China in the last five months. Frequent abroad travelling for several days stay on government’s expenses may break the records set by Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani over the period of 4 years.
Mr. Sharif is reported to have spent more than a month in foreign travels, after getting into power, up till now. Frequent visits to Britain, is paid by him. While during the visits and stay, he takes on board for the US flight too. As criticized heavily, Britain looks more a capital of Pakistan then the Islamabad where hardly the PM is seen for the stays.
After Turkey, he went to London and eventually returned to Pakistan. He then travelled to US, from where he again stayed at Britain. Coming back to Pakistan for four days, he has again gone to Britain.
The official sources have reported that he would be visiting Sri Lanka and then Thailand on his return from 15 th of November.
During PPP tenure, Gillani had paid 43 visits to foreign countries that led to the expenditure of Rs. 250 billion. If the PM continues with such foreign travels then, it is likely that soon he would break record of the former PM.
