Playing football is better for your bones than swimming & cycling, a new research published in scientific journal ‘Journal of Bone & Mineral Research’ reveals.
Bone growth is best possible at young age and that’s when people should encourage their children to play football. According to University of Exeter the bones become completely mature at the age of 30.
Playing football at least 3 hours a week will positively affect your bone growth, suggest the author Dimitris Vlachopoulos. Other games will also improve our bone growth but because of the physical activity and movements involved in football it is the best game to play.
The year long study was based on 116 boys who played professional football at different training camps, clubs or at school. Their age was between 12 to 14 and this is the best age to maximize the bone growth through physical activity.
