Islamabad: Pakistani Government has decided to take 21 passenger planes on lease in order to overcome deficit that the National Airline Company has faced. According to the authorities of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) government is planning to firs overcome the deficits and then take further steps to make PIA a profitable company.
Spokes Person of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has said that for the acquisition of planes legal steps have been taken by the government. “We have decided to take 21 dry planes and have also published tenders in newspapers. PIA will get two planes till July and the third plane in September or October, while all the remaining planes will be taken by the end of this year or in start of next year”, spokes person Mashhood Tajwar.
Mashood Tajwar has also said that with the help of these new planes PIA flights will start to travel on those routes which it had left due to lack of passenger planes. He also added that we will reopen routes like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Hong Kong etc and we will also open new routes after buying these 21 planes.
