Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has reduced ticket prices for both the domestic and international flights. According to the reports, national carrier of Pakistan has reduced domestic and Umrah flights up to 50%. Spokesperson of PIA Danyal Gilani has said that the one side ticket of Karachi to Lahore and Karachi to Islamabad is reduced to Rs. 7500. Similarly, people going to perform Umrah from Karachi, will have to pay Rs. 45,500 for round trip from economy class, while ticket will be started from Rs. 54,500 from Lahore and Islamabad. During the recent protest of PIA employees, PM Nawaz Sharif revealed that PIA is facing daily loss of Rs. 100 million.
While talking about the current reduction in PIA fares, spokesperson of PIA has said that this initiative has been taken by the national airline to compete with other airlines. He said that private airlines of Pakistan have increased their fares after protest of PIA employees, which is unjustified. He said that due to the current reduction in fares of PIA, national airline will once again get the maximum number of passengers.

It is to be noted that leading private airlines of Pakistan including Shaheen Air and Air Blue have increased their fares up to 100% during the protest of PIA employees.
