It is expected that prices of petroleum products in Pakistan will be lowered by Rs. 5 to Rs. 10. According to reports Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government has directed to reduce the prices of petroleum prices to give relief to the general public. Currently the price of petrol per litre is 99.77 and High Speed Diesel price per litre is 104.6.
According to a political analyst this decision was expected as PML-N wants to show to the people that inflation will be controlled and even brought down. Insiders in PML-N have told that Nawaz Sharif wants to make a good image of PML-N government in first 100 days.
However if prices of petroleum prices will rise in international market than it will be not possible for the government to reduce the price. But still the government will lower the price by Rs. 2-3. Some sources have claimed that Compressed natural gas (CNG) price will also be brought down but not in the coming days.
