A constitutional petition has been filed in Supreme Court for seeking orders to the electronic and print media to stop publishing and airing propaganda against the Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
The petition was filed by former deputy attorney general Sardar Muhammad Ghazi under Article 184(3) of the constitution. .
The petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to order the government and PEMRA to take action against Najam Sethi and Hamid Mir. He has also requested that Najam Sethi and Hamid Mir should be banned from the television for six months as provided by the PEMRA rules. He has requested court to cancel the licence of GEO TV and also fine GEO TV and the declaration of Daily Tribune for allowing such articles to be printed in their newspaper.
