Peshawar Court issues arrest warrant for 3 Chinese women for looting minerals worth of $947,000 from a mine in Chitral. The arrest warrants were issued after they failed to appear in court on several occasions.
These three women, Ms Hongying Wen the mother and two daughters Xe Ping & Han Wen are directors of a Chinese firm. A reference was filed against them in NAB after government official accused the company of smuggling minerals illegally.
The charges were made by provincial minister Ziaullah Afridi which the company denied. The company claims that the excavation and the minerals sent to China were all according to the law.
It is said that 413 tons of antimony were smuggle which resulted in a loss of around $10 million for Pakistani government. Company claims that they had written permission from Minerals Department for sending 500 tons of antimony for testing.
