Pera Palace hotel is a special hotel with museum located in Pera district in Istanbul. The sole purpose for which the hotel was built was to host the passengers of Orient Express. It is titled as the oldest European hotel of Turkey. Pera Palace Hotel was named after the place it is situated.
Pera Palace hotel is the social and cultural centre of Istanbul nowadays and it holds such a great importance because of its location as it is situated only 20 kilometers away from Ataturk International Airport. The hotel was closed for renovation in 2006 and it was reopened in 2010.
