KABUL: Peace talks between Afghan government and Taliban will start from today in Qatar. According to details, Afghan government and Taliban will officially start negotiations in order to bring peace to Afghanistan. According to sources, a two-day regional conference is starting in Qatar from Sunday in which detailed talks will be held between Afghan government and Taliban. The sources told that special representatives of Pakistan would also be included in the talks.
A delegation of Afghan government comprising twenty members has reached Qatar in this regard. Besides, the spokesperson of Taliban, Zabiullah Mujahid has also confirmed that a delegation of Taliban comprising 8 members will join the conference. He said that attending the conference doesn’t mean at all that we would talk or negotiate concerning peace in Afghanistan.
On the other hand, the vice chief of Afghan Peace Council, Ataullah Lodin told a foreign news agency that Afghanistan, Pakistan, Taliban and some other people would be joining the conference, adding that talks of peace in Afghanistan would be discussed. He added that the members of Afghan Peace Council led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar would meet with two representatives of Hizb-e-Islami party in Qatar.
