Islamabad: The prime minster of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that the national security is the foremost priority in the peace talks with Taliban. The negotiations are being carried out in the greater interest of the country and the responsibility of its success lies on everyone. The committee formulated on behalf of the government should keep working with full faith and confidence. He was discussing these issues on Sunday evening while having a meeting with the mediators of the committee and his special envoy on national issues, Mr. Irfan Siddiqui.
The minister of interior Chaudhry Nisar was also present during the meeting. Mr. Irfan Siddiqui informed the PM of his third formal talks with the Taliban committee held two days earlier. He also discussed the details of the consequential meeting of their Shura’ and their demands from the government.
He informed the PM that the governmental committee had made it clear to the Taliban’s committee that the unconstructive activities must be stopped immediately and failure of which may result in abrupt cessation of the peace talks after which the political Shura convened its meeting and ceasefire was announced.

He further elaborated the details of demands made by the governmental committee to Taliban including the release of all the innocent kidnapped victims and that the deadline of ceasefire should be extended till at least a month rather than for few days. During the meeting minister of interior Chaudhry Nisar also briefed the PM about the security situation prevalent in the country and discussed the condition of Karachi.
