Manmeet Kaur becomes the first female Sikh News Anchorperson in Pakistan. The 24 year old anchorperson is from Peshawar, provincial capital of Khyber Paktunkhwa (KPK).
Manmeet Kaur joined Hum News and became the first Sikh anchor in the country. According to media reports she completed her graduation from Jinnah College for Women in Peshawar after which she decided to join the media.
She said that initially her family was not supportive but when they saw her first report on Hum News they were very glad.

While talking with media she said that my dream is to visit Amritsar, where Golden Temple is located and which is the religious center of Sikh religion.
I want to visit Amritsar as a journalist and cover religious stories from Amritsar, added Manmeet. This she believes will reflect a bright side of Pakistan.
Literacy rates in Sikh community is very low, most men prefer business while women are responsible for the household work. Manmeet believes that she can change the views of her community.
