At a time when economic turmoil and inflation is forcing startups towards closure, a new venture is ready to be launched in the metropolitan city of Karachi. Sky Wings Pvt Ltd has announced that they will be soon launching Pakistan’s first Air Taxi as a new mode of transportation.
The aerial taxi service will allow passengers to travel from one city to another at affordable rates and fastest possible time, which makes it an attractive service for government officials, business community and international tourists.
Imran Aslam Khan who is the CEO of Sky wings informed that they have already acquired the DA40 Diamond series aircraft from a German aircraft manufacturer for their aerial service. He informed they also have other aircrafts which will be used for the aerial taxi service.
At the initial state the service will be available for Sindh and Balochistan only, allowing people to travel to remote and distant areas of Sindh and Balochistan in shortest duration. Talking about the difference Imran Aslam said that through their air taxi the distance between Karachi and Gwadar will be just 3 hours while Karachi to Nawabshah will only take 1 hour.
Book your Ride Through App:
Currently Sky Wings have a fleet of 8 aircrafts with capacity from two to eight passengers, they are planning to add more aircrafts. But even this small fleet will be enough for the air taxi service as Sky Wings plans to launch an app for booking air taxi. They are considering to follow the model of Uber, Careem and Bykea, expecting that the existing airlines and owners of aircrafts will join the app making it a place where passengers and aircraft service provides will connect with each other.
He is also considering the option of launching this air taxi service on existing apps such as Careem, Uber and Bykea. Hence people will be able to use the existing apps to book their air ride. Once successfully launched, the process of booking your air taxi will be as simple as booking a taxi from the comfort of your home.
Affordable Rates:
In comparison with charter flights the cost of aerial taxi will be quite affordable, speaking with media Imran Aslam Khan revealed that their fare will be much lower and affordable in comparison with charter flights, because the cost for charter flights is around Rs2.5 million for a trip from Karachi to different cities in Sindh and Balochistan.
Impact on Tourism:
If properly marketed and planned this service will also help tourism in Pakistan as this will provide people with the opportunity to enjoy aerial view of different tourist locations in Pakistan, it will also help them to cover more distance in shorter period of time. This is will revolutionize the concept of tourism in Pakistan, opening new venues and business models in tourism sector.
Health Care:
The air taxi can also provide relief in situation of emergency, especially for the people of rural and distant areas where medical facilities aren’t available and they have to cover long distances and travel for hours before reaching hospital. This is why Sky Wings has also launched an air ambulance service.
Long hour travel results in delay of medical treatment but the air ambulance can be an option for providing emergency transportation from rural areas of Sindh and Balochistan to Karachi so that critical medical treatment is provided at its earliest.
Currently Sky Wings is also providing other services such as one day pilot opportunity, marketing services such as banner towing, flyer dropping from sky, Flower dropping along with Flight Academy and Maintenance, Repair Overhaul and Inspection Services.
