Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board is all set to declare new Central Contract list for a period of one year to be offered to 32 players of the National Cricket team, during a ceremony to be held on Friday (tomorrow) for the Asia Cup winners here at the Expo Centre.
The new contract list will bring delight for the team players as they can expect a pay hike of between 10 to 15 per cent in the fresh contracts. PCB has also decided to clear the outstanding dues of players from last 4 or 5 months and it will now be paid in lump sum.
According to the last Contract, monthly salary of the players in three different categories was in the range of 250,000 rupees, 175,000 and 125,000.
However, the maximum Test or ODI match fee paid to the uppermost players of the team range from 300,000 to 350,000 rupees which is still much lower than the Indian Cricket players receive.
The increase in salary means that players of the national team can look forward to a considerable raise in their match fees for ODIs, Tests and T20 matches which have remain unchanged for the last three to four years.
Meanwhile, sources informed that Abdul Razzaq and Kamran Akmal are not likely to get a central contract in the list of contracted players which to be announced by the board tomorrow.
It is to mention here that the Central Contracts of the National players ended on December 31, 2011 and they are still waiting for the news contracts for the last four months. But the officials said that the players would be given contacts dating back to January 1 this year.
