Pakistan Women Football team are preparing themselves for an encounter with their rivals in the South Asian Women Football Tournament. The team is riding with its spirits high and is hoping to get to the final round of the tournament. The team will be playing at their home ground and will have high expectations attached to their performance. Hajra, the Pakistani team captain, is positive about the team’s performance and is aiming to take her team to at least the semi finals.
Obviously, the Pakistani women’s team are still at their nurturing stage so hoping to beat India and Nepal will be over confident at this stage, as Hajra modestly confided that Nepal and India were the best sides in the tournament and beating them would be tough. Pakistan was unable to make it to finals in the last championship held in Sri Lanka, while India sailed to victory.
Hajra talked about her team’s visit to Bahrain for the tournament. She said that her team were not able to win against the strong side of Bahrain, but their confrontation with Bahrain helped her team to identify their flaws and learn some useful tactics. She said that Pakistan is full of talented players. All they need is exposure. Pakistan hopes to perform better than their last tournament on the basis of their Bahrain experience.
