In order to prepare the Pakistan women cricket team for the Asian games, Pakistan has announced a 14 member women’s cricket team for the tour to Australia. This will be the first time that the Pakistani women’s cricket team will embark on a journey to Australia and play against the home team. The team will be led by none other than, Sana Mir. The tour will include four one-day and as many twenty20 internationals. The tour is planned form 15th August til 6th September.
The PCB hoped that the player’s exposure to the international cricket scene in both the 50 over format and the 20 over format will prepare them for the Asian games. Pakistan won the Asian Games women’s title in Guangzhou, China in 2010 and will be defending their position in the next Asian games that will be held in Incheon, South Korea.
The Asian games will be held from 16th September till 4th October. Pakistan will be competing against Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Nepal, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Thailand in the Asian games. The cricket team is based on Sana Mir (captain), Bismah Maroof, Nain Abidi, Sidra Nawaz, Nida Rashid, Javeria Wadood, Asmavia Iqbal, Marina Iqbal, Aliya Riaz, Qanita Jalil, Sumaiya Siddiqui, Maham Tariq, Sania iqbal, Sadia Yousuf.
