Islamabad: Intensifying Pakistan’s presence in space for commercial and strategic purposes, SUPARCO is planning to build its next scientific satellite of the BADAR series, sources informed.
According to the credible sources, the proposed scientific satellite will carry a number of engineering evaluation and scientific experiments, including those from R&D organizations, academic institutions and other unnamed national agencies.
This endeavor is a part of Pakistan’s “Space Programme 2040”, which envisions making the country a major player in space building the resilience on the International Scientific arena.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan successfully launched its first Communications Satellite PAKSAT-1R last year that enables extending of communication services to all areas of Pakistan.
PAKSAT-IR has a design life of 15 years and will provide TV broadcasting, Internet and data communication services across South and Central Asia, Eastern Europe, East Africa and the Far East.
