Rawalpindi: Pakistan has successfully test-fired the long range ballistic missile Hatf IV (Shaheen-IA) in the Indian Ocean, private TV channel reported Wednesday. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) the missile is capable of carrying heavy nuclear warheads.
The long range ballistic missile range and technical parameters have been improved, a press release from ISPR said.
The missile test was expected from the Pakistani side after India test –fired its Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Agni V on April 18 and Pakistan has tested the long-range missile just a week after the Indian Missile test.
India’s indigenously built Agni-V has a range of more than 5,000 kilometers (3,100 miles) and is capable of carrying nuclear warhead.
