ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office of Pakistan has said that Pakistan is taking steps to implement ban on arms supply after Security Council banned arms supply to Houthis in Yemen. The spokesperson of the foreign office, Tasneem Aslam has said that the foreign ministry has issued an SRO 324, 2015 after a resolution approved in Security Council.
The SRO has been issued to freeze assets, travelling and ban on purchasing arms in accordance with the clause 2, act 1984 of the Security Council. It should be clear here that this notification has appeared after a high level meeting held at Prime Minister House in which Nawaz Sharif said he had ensured Saudi officials, through a delegation, to implement on the resolution, approved in Security Council.
On the other hand, the government of Pakistan is considering to send Pakistani ships to stop arms supply to Houthi tribes and the force of Abdullah Saleh. The spokesperson said that Pakistan had taken all necessary steps to implement on the resolution 2140 (2014, 2204 (2015) and 2216 (2015) that was approved in the Security Council.
