Rawalpindi: Pakistan today (Tuesday, 5th May) conducted a successful test of indigenously developed Cruise Missile Hatf-VII (Babur) that has a range of 700 kms, ISPR Press release informed.
According to the Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), the Multi tube, Babur Cruise Missile is capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads and has stealth abilities.
It attains high maneuverability, 100% accuracy and radar avoidance features. Babur, a low flying cruise missile also incorporates the most advanced cruise missile technology of Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM) and Digital Scene Matching and Area Co-relation (DSMAC), which boosts its exactness and effectiveness.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai (R), Chairman National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney and senior officers from the armed forces and strategic organizations, scientists and engineers were present at the launching spot.
