WASHINGTON: two think tanks of the United States of America have urged Pakistan to sign Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) in order to gain trust of international community without waiting for India, demanding that Pakistan should take 5 steps concerning nuclear weapons.
The two think tanks of USA, Stimson Center and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (CEIP) have said if Pakistan wants to gain trust of international community, it will have to take 5 steps concerning nuclear weapons without waiting for India and it will have to sign CTBT.
The think tanks wrote in their reports that the first proposal is that Pakistan announced its strategic deterrence policy to the entire surface, is committed to minimum defense capability, adding that Pakistan should limit its production of traditional nuclear weapons and vehicles in accordance with less distance.
VETO of Pakistan should be lifted through Fissile Material Cut-off Treaty negotiations and fissile material should be cut; to separate civilian and military nuclear facilities and the final suggestion is that Pakistan should sign CTBT without waiting for India.
