These events are happening at a time when Pakistan Hockey Federation was facing financial problems.
The caretaker government stopped the Rs. 200 million grant for PHF and just before Asian Games the hockey players announced that they will not participate in the games if their daily allowances are not given.
Hockey is Pakistan’s national game in which once we were the champions. Pakistani team won 4 World Cups, 3 Champions Trophy and 3 Olympics Gold Medal.
Leagues such as PHSL will revive the spirit and enhance the capabilities of players resulting in a team capable of winning international tournaments once again.
