Karachi: Prices for various Pak Suzuki automobiles increased by Rs 10,000 – 20,000, it is learnt. The manufacturing automobile company Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited (PSMCL) observed the changes. According to the new prices, prices for Suzuki Mehran VX, VXR, Ravi, Bolan, Cargo Van, Cultus, Swift DLX and Swift DX are: Rs 620,000, Rs 678,000, Rs 647,000, Rs 700,000, Rs 676,000, Rs 1.044 million, Rs 1.302 million and Rs. 1.221 million respectively.
The company increased the prices three to four times last year. In year 2013, rupee gained Rs 12 .6 percent against Japanese yen. Changes were made, despite cheap import of the manufacturing items. Appreciable differences in rupee were observed against US dollar and Japanese yen over the months of October to December.
Initially, rise in the prices by Rs 20,000 was observed in January 2013, which later escalated to Rs. 5,000 and maximum Rs 70, 000 in July. Local and imported cars were liable to the price hikes. Over the period from September, October to December, price surge by 3.15 pc to 6.09 pc was observed.
Like Indus Motor Company, Honda Atlas Motors also increased the prices by 3.34 pc to 41.33 pc, accounting price rise ranging up to 400,000 maximum and minimally Rs 55,000.
