Former foreign minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that government and masses should take US allegations seriously leveled against Pakistan, adding that government should take on board all parties of the country, whether they are present in Parliament or not. Talking to a private TV channel former minister said that the US should not nominate Pakistan as responsible for failure of war in Afghanistan.
He said that prime minister should take into confidence to the parliament, adding that the military and political leadership should convey unanimous point of view to United States, adding that the mix signals sent by Pakistani government to the US harm Pakistan.
Qureshi said that America has leveled serious allegations on Pakistan and in current scenario, the holding of Corps Commanders meeting is a timely decision taken by Chief of Army staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
He said that we have to prepare our strategy, adding that military and political leadership of the country has to face the situation with planned strategy if US attacks on Pakistan.
Pakistan should not convey any confusing and mixed signal to US and should assure that the whole nation is united in current situation, Qureshi said.
He said that it is very unfortunate that after great sacrifices in war against terrorism the US has concerns about our action, adding that America is facing difficult situation in Afghanistan and terming the responsible to Pakistan by United States is not a justified strategy, adding that Pakistan should ready for any kind of difficulty.
Qureshi said that Mullen has visited Pakistan for 27 times and he knows the regional situation very well, beyond that, he is blaming Pakistan is very serious situation for country.
Envoy in United States should convey the message regarding ground realities to USA, if he does not do so than it would the negligence of Pakistani envoy present in USA during the performance of his duties.
He said that nation has need of such leadership is required which could safeguard the interests of the nation, adding that Pakistan is intended any confrontation with the US.
He said that there is trust deficit present between the two countries, adding that there is tremendous pressure of US masses on Obama to withdraw forces from Afghanistan as the US has failed to bring any improvement in the situation. (SANA)
