Lahore: Head of Jamat-ud-Dawah, Prof. Hafiz Saeed has explicitly said that Pak-India friendship and trade cannot last long until and unless the Kashmiris are given their right of freedom from an oppressive Indian rule. Kashmir is an issue that we will continue to bring up on all forums. Highlighting the blessed arrival of Ramadan, he also motivated the nation to participate in the relief and fundraising project of JuD to cater for the needs of IDPs from Waziristan.
Addressing an audience at a local marriage hall in Gulshan-e-Ravi, Lahore that had come for a “Sehri” or pre-dawn fasting meal party, Prof. Hafiz Saeed brought up the issue of target-killing in the name of Islam, which is becoming widespread through fatwa’s declaring certain Muslims as disbelievers. He strongly criticized the absurdity and inhumane ideology of such people and described it as a tool used by foreign enemies to weaken and spread strife among Muslims. It is not permissible to target the wealth, life and honor of any Muslim. Stressing the Islamic scholars to play their due role, he called upon them to unite the Ummah rather than dividing the Muslims in Pakistan and elsewhere.
Ramadan has come with all its innumerable blessings and invites all humans to reform their beliefs and deeds. All sorts of sins must be abandoned to gain Allah’s Pleasure in this month. Furthermore, special prayers must be made for the oppressed Muslims. The Muslim Ummah and Pakistan specifically, is going through difficult times. The enemies of Islam have launched an all-out propaganda war in addition to sectarian based killings in our communities. Therefore, it is the need of hour to develop harmony and establish peace in our country, thereby resisting the foreign conspiracies.
Ramadan is a wake-up call that has come to bring ourselves into account and enrich our souls with God – consciousness (Taqwa). Only the people who act on Shariah in their daily lives are able to work for the glory of Islam at a wider, global scale. Quran and Sunnah should be our guide in every aspect of our lives.
Prof. Hafiz Saeed went on to say that the West has been labeling the struggle of Muslims for their rights of freedom and honor as terrorism, on basis of false propaganda. They are not worried about Islamic rituals, but the problematic issue for them is the rise of Muslims for their defense and freedom. It threatens their oppressive social and financial systems by which they have formed a clutch on our lands. The Muslim rulers worldwide are being tested – either they may stand up against oppression on Muslims, or they may stand by their enemies. It is critically important that our rulers form policies in light of divine guidance and national interests.
