Onion is used in foods to add taste but do you know it also makes your heart healthy and decreases the risk of heart attacks?
In 2002 a study was published in scientific journal “Thrombosis Research” which revealed the benefits of onions for cardiovascular patients. Research revealed that Sulphur is a natural blood thinner which makes blood circulation smooth even if the arteries are blocked, this also decreases the blood pressure.
Onions also contain a component known as quercetin which is known to prevent plaque buildup. This means onion not only decreases the risk of heart attack in heart patients but is also prevent heart problems by preventing artery blockage.
Onions has other benefits also such as it makes your immune system stronger because it contains polyphenols which work as antioxidants fighting against free radicals. University of Maryland Medical Center also claimed that it reduces the risk of allergy.
