Nokia launched the much awaited Nokia X in Pakistan at a ceremony held in Marriott Hotel Karachi. Nokia X is Nokia’s first foray into the Android market which has become the most popular operating platform for Smartphone. The Nokia X though isn’t designed to rival the company’s flagship Lumia series but seems to be designed for the low end budget market with a price of only Rs 13800.
Nokia hasn’t tried any fancy tricks with its first Android phone but has kept it simple. It is equipped with a 4 inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and a pixel density of 233 ppi. The CPU is a 1 GHz Dual core Snapdragon S4 with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage with option to extend with microSD cards up to 32 GB.
The Nokia X has a 3MP camera which can shoot photos up to 2048X1536 pixels and video at 480p resolution at 30 frames per second. The camera comes with features such as panorama and face detection. There is no front camera though, which is a disappointment. The Nokia X also has Dual-SIM capabilities and it is all topped up with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Nokia also announced that it would be launching two other variants of Nokia X, the Nokia XL and Nokia X+ which would be available in Pakistan from the first week of May.
