The Ministry of Interior dismissed the reports regarding the increase in passport fees as baseless.
The Ministry said that there has been no increase in passport fees, the reports circulating on social media regarding the increase in machine readable passport fees are baseless.
The viral news which has been in air since few weeks has been denied by Ministry, which has been a relief for Pakistani citizens.
The spokesperson of the Ministry said that there has been no increase in the fees of machine-readable passports, the federal government has approved the issuance of e-passports for Pakistani citizens.
He said that the e-passport facility has not been implemented at present.
