Recently the National Assembly Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting has advised that it should be compulsory for female news anchors to carry a Dupatta when they are on air. During the meeting in Islamabad the committee also showed its concern over the exposure of being given to Indian models in Pakistani advertisements.
Many news channels posted this news on their Facebook official page where people have welcomed this decision and said that it is very good and appreciable decision of Standing Committee for Information and Broadcasting. Many of the people are of the view that Indian channels should also be banned and those Indian dramas which are aired from Pakistani entertainment channels should also be stopped.
However some people commented that it is not bad to air dramas of India but PEMRA should censor all those scenes which are hurting our cultural and society. Many Indian cartoons are aired in Pakistan which have become controversial. Many parents have said that cartoons like Chhota Bheem which airs from Pogo TV are not suitable for Pakistani children.
In the recent few years female and also male news caster put lot of make up which is also disturbing in a way that news casting is a serious job and this is not a drama or film.
This decision is a good one and is also welcomed by many people. It is now hoped that PEMRA also direct all the news and entertainment channels to not air those shows, programs, scenes which carries vulgar content.
