ISLAMABAD: The accused of Mumbai attack case, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi has been taken into custody by police and a new case of kidnapping has been filed against him. The anti-terrorism court approved bail of Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi on 18 December 2014. When the detention orders were issued for him, Islamabad High Court suspended them. Then, the police took him in custody in a new case.
According to details, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi was brought to F8 Kachehri (Magistrate’s court) in high security where Duty Magistrate, Malik Amaan heard the case of kidnapping. The FIR of kidnapping against Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi was registered yesterday in Golra Sharif police station, Islamabad.
The plaintiff, Muhammad Dawood made a plea that Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi kidnapped his brother-in-law, Muhammad Zareef five years ago. He added that his brother-in-law used to visit the office of Jamat-ud-dawah. Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi was to release today from Adiala Jail.
Islamabad High Court approved the bail of Zaki-ur-Rehman in the case of Mumbai attack two days ago. The administration issued detention orders for him which were suspended by Islamabad High Court yesterday but he was taken in custody in kidnapping case before his release today.
It is pertinent to mention here that Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi is the key accused of Mumbai attack case and India is also pressurizing Pakistan to take action against him. India summoned Pakistani High Commissioner yesterday after the news of his bail was aired.
