Islamabad: After three months of proceedings and justice being delayed, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeks to delay the case furthermore as it on Thursday disposed of a petition that challenge the illegal abduction of Naveed Butt, the spokesman of Hizbut Tahrir Pakistan. The IHC now directs the petitioner to approach the Lahore High Court, denying justice actually.
The Apex court was hearing a petition launched by Sadia Rahat, the wife of Hizbut Tahrir (HuT) activist, who had accused the intelligence agencies of illegally detaining her husband.
The Punjab Additional Advocate General Jawad Hassan get this in mind after three months that that the case should be heard in the LHC, since the FIR was filed in Lahore, which is outside the IHC’s limits.
However, the petitioner’s advocate, Umar Hayat Sandhu, argued that the respondents belong to the federal government and the case should be pursued in the IHC.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court directed the petitioners to approach the LHC.
