Nationalist political parties form Sindh are opposing giving citizenships to Bengalis and Rohingya refugees by calling a drone attack against people of Sindh.
Dr. Qadir Magsi from Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STPP), Ayaz Latif Palijo from Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT), Abrar Qazi from Awami Jamhoori Party (AJP) and Ashraf Noonari from Sindh National Tehreek (SNT) all opposed the issuance of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).
Asharf Noonari said that these refugees are a burden on the resources and people of Sindh but the provincial and federal governments are still deciding to issue then CNIC. He threatened the government with shutter down strike saying that we will not accept any issuance of CNIC for illegal refugees.
These remarks were made after media reported the problems of Rohingya (Burmese) refugees in Karachi. They are deprived of basic facilities such as health, education and jobs.
