London: Former dictator Pervez Musharraf’s lawyer claimed that the federal government is affecting the judges of special court therefore the trial of treason case against his client must be suspended on immediate and unconditional basis. Pervez Musharraf’s lawyers have sent a letter to the United Nations saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has himself appointed the judges of Special Court; therefore the world institution must end the show trial.
According to a statement issued from London, former president’s lawyer accused Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of using unauthorized powers to pressurize the judges to make baseless cases against his old political rival. While demanding immediate suspension of his client’s trials the defense attorney also demanded a comprehensive investigation relating his claim.
Pervez Musharraf’s international human rights lawyer, Toby Kidman said that the trial court judges contradict in words and action and the recent documents clearly shows the differences between the administration and the courts.
Former army general Pervez Musharraf is the first dictator in the history of Pakistan who has been found guilty and is facing trials in the offence of breaking the constitution and imposing emergency on 3rd November 2007. Pervez Musharraf appeared in the court on 18th February but after that due to security concerns and his heart disease could not come to the court for many hearings. On 31st march the court has asked him to appear in the court in any situation. In case of non compliance of the order of the court the police would arrest him and present in court.
