DUBAI: International Cricket Council (ICC) has banned Muhammad Hafeez, Pakistani All rounder, for one year declaring that his bowling action is doubtful. According to ICC, Muhammad Hafeez could not clear his bowling action being tested in Chennai, the city of India on July 6, 2015. Afterwards, ICC decided to impose ban of one year on Muhammad Hafeez.
On the other hand, Muhammad Hafeez has right to appeal against the decision as per ICC rules. It is pertinent to mention here that an umpire reported the bowling action of Muhammad Hafeez doubtful in the test match being played against Sri Lanka in Galle last month. Afterwards, Muhammad Hafeez had his bowling action tested in Chennai, India through a local biomechanical lab.
Muhammad Hafeez threw six overs during the test in which his elbow sleeve was reviewed but he failed to have his bowling action cleared and ICC had to decide to ban him for one year. It is pertinent to mention here that Muhammad Hafeez was also stopped to bowl last year after being reported doubtful bowling action in Home Series against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.
