Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) office-bearer Azam Daniyal has joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. From the last few months Azam Daniyal was not active in MQM and he was not working for his party. Azam Daniyal was Member District Committee and was very much active in MQM Punjab House in Lahore.
After 11th May General elections MQM and PTI is in war of words. PTI alleged that MQM has rigged elections on many constitutes in Karachi and started demonstrations at different Karachi seats. MQM chief Altaf Hussain threatened PTI workers, however MQM was of the view that media quotes Altaf Hussain speech out of context and he never threatened any one.
PTI founding leader Zahra Shahid Hussain was killed in Karachi after elections. Imran Khan blamed MQM chief for killing of Zahra Shahid which MQM rejected and started demonstrations against unjust allegations by Imran Khan.
Meanwhile in Lahore, US-returned businessman Shahzaid Malik, Mian Aqeel, Muhammad Arif, Ana Tahir, Masood Ahmad Saeed, Irshadul Haq Chaudhry, and Shaista Chaudhry also announced to join Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
